Woodland Lodge opens [UPDATED]

An all-day open house format proved to be the right choice when Woodland Lodge opened its doors to the public Thursday.

“We are really, really pleased with how it went,” said Mary Widiger, marketing director for LB Homes, about the open house. “We had a nice stream of people, so we were able to give private tours. We were hoping people wouldn’t feel rushed and could ask questions.”

The enhanced assisted living facility, formerly Lakeland Hospice House north of Fergus Falls, has a total of 33 rooms, with 28 rooms available for assisted living and 5 rooms dedicated to hospice care, said Widiger. The facility will accept its first two residents today, with more scheduled to move in next week, she said.

Because enhanced assisted living is such a new form of health care, Widiger said, people have been asking lots of questions about how its going to work at Woodland Lodge.

“It’s exciting the interest that has been spiked,” she said.
