She was born Aug. 9, 1928, in Dalton, the daughter of Alvin and Myrtle (Johnson) Foshaug. She grew up in Fergus Falls where she attended school, graduating from high school in 1947.

On June 25, 1949, she married Otto James Olson in Dalton. Together they raised two daughters, Pam and Nancy, and made their home in Fergus Falls. Muriel worked for Arneson Larson Milton for many years until her retirement.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she participated in Ladies Aid, and was a longtime member of the Elks Club.

Muriel enjoyed time spent with friends and family at the cabin on Deer Lake for more than 30 years. She enjoyed making lefse and other Scandinavian treats, knitting, and playing cards and bingo.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Otto in 2007; and one brother, Stanley Foshaug. Her daughter, Nancy Bordson, passed away Wednesday Feb. 20, 2013.

Survivors include her daughters, Pamela (Jim) Wolters of Fargo, and Nancy Bordson of Bovey; five grandchildren, Ryan (Marisa) Wolters, Ben (Erin) Wolters, and Sarah (Mark) Huckle, all of Fargo, Nick Henkes of Minneapolis, and Molly Henkes of Grand Forks, N.D.; three great-grandchildren, Emily, Tristen and Kyra Wolters, all of Fargo; a brother, Richard Foshaug of Erhard; a sister, Betty (Donald) Funkhouser of Dalton; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church

Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, at Zion Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls

Burial: Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Fergus Falls
