Knight boys lose heartbreaker to WHN

BARRETT — The West Central Area boys saw their heartbroken as Mathew Pederson hit a game winning shot for Wheaton/Herman-Norcross 61-59.

“This game did not come down to that play,” Knight coach Kraig Hunter said. “We started the game 2-11 from the field and missed our first four free throws. Missing little bunnies and free throws in the first few minutes is a big reason we lost this game.”

Brady Combs led the Knights with 14 points, while teammates Jay Zimmerman and Drew Peterson had 13 and 10 points, respectively.

The Knights will close out their home season Tuesday as they host St. John’s Prep in a 6 p.m. match up.
