Attempted theft thwarted

Someone allegedly tried to steal a red Chevy Blazer by using a pair of scissors.

According to the police report, an unknown person gained access to the Blazer, which was parked in the lot across from Heikes Auto Care, in the 400 block of S. Sheridan Avenue.

The person reportedly removed a plastic piece from the counsel and broke the tip of a scissors in the ignition.

The reportee said the incident would have happened within the past four days. It was reported just after 1 p.m. Monday. There are no suspects.
