Caller scammed out of $1,900 [UPDATED]

A Battle Lake woman sent about $1,900 to a bogus bond office after she received a call and was told her granddaughter was in jail, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s office.

The money likely went to Mexico, and the case has been referred to the FBI internet crimes division, according to the report.
