HS automotive students test skills at M State [UPDATED]
Published 9:14am Wednesday, February 27, 2013 Updated 11:16am Wednesday, February 27, 2013Students from eight area high schools will put their automotive skills to the test during a day-long competition on the Moorhead campus of Minnesota State Community and Technical College today.
Twenty-four students will be participating in the High School Automotive Skills Competition, which has been sponsored annually by M State’s Automotive Technology department since 2009. The student competitors are from Ada, Norman County West, Wahpeton, Valley City, Moorhead, Fergus Falls, Jamestown and Fargo South high schools.
M State automotive students judge the 12 separate stations set up to test the high school students’ automotive knowledge, with students given 14 minutes at each station. Participants also must take a 35-question written exam. Tools are donated by vendors for prizes.
