OTC football coach Seipkes to be inducted to MNHSCA HOF

Don Seipkes, head football coach of the Otter Tail Central Bulldogs, will be inducted into the Minnesota High School Coaches’ Association Hall of Fame.

Coach Seipkes was hired by the Henning school district in 1972 and took over as head football coach in 1973.

After combining with Battle Lake in 1991, Seipkes led the Otter Tail Central Bulldogs for over 20 seasons with an overall record of 237-155.

In that time, Seipkes has claimed 15 conference titles, five section titles and two runner-up finishes at state.

Seipkes has not only be successful on the football field but has been a track coach for, junior high basketball coach for both boys and girls and an assistant basketball coach.

He is currently the athletic director at Henning.

Seipkes will be joined by fellow coaches Gene Stritesky (Ogilvie), Jerry Foley (Stillwater), Steve Ott (Deer River), Ivan Kroulik (Kasson-Mantorville) and Jerry Carlson (Cambridge).

The banquet will be held on Saturday, April 6 at the Double Tree Hotel in Minneapolis.
