The Fergus Falls Otters hockey team traveled to Alexandria to take on the Cardinals Tuesday night. The Otters were able to pound the net with 46 shots to defeat the Alexandria by a score of 4-2.

In the first Fergus Falls outshot the Cardinals 16-7, but were only able to find the back of the net once when Sam Rausch got the scoring started with a goal just before the end of the period.

In the second, the lone goal went to Alexandria 3:42 into the period, tying the game at 1-1, where it would remain until the third.

The third started off slow with neither team able to find the back of the net. Eventually Alexandria scored just past the halfway point when Tom Schmidt scored his second goal of the night for the Cardinals. Casey Ward answered quickly for the Otters tying the game at two just :33 seconds later.

That got things rolling as the Otters had a flurry of goals with Kyler Peterson and Connor Tarczon each scoring before the game ended to give the Otters a 4-2 victory.

With this win the Otters are now 11-8-3 this year and will play hosts to St. Cloud Tech on Thursday.
