Knights fall in second half battle 43-38

BROWERVILLE — The West Central Area boys were able to hold the No. 7 (Class A) Browerville Tigers to seven first half points, but the host would rally in the second half to pick up Prairie Conference victory 43-38.

“Our game plan was to minimize possessions,” Knights coach Kraig Hunter said. “We slowed the game down to 17 possessions in the first half and really had them out of rhythm by changing up defenses and making them have to guard us on offense. They simply hit the tough shots under pressure down the stretch when they needed baskets to win the game.”

Drew Peterson and Jay Zimmerman were both in double digits for West Central with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Knights will be back in action Friday as they host Swanville in the second game of a girl/boy double-header Friday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
