Naomi “Kay” Ellingson, 72, of Pelican Rapids

Naomi Ellingson, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo.

She was born February 25, 1941, in Sverdrup Township, rural Underwood, the daughter of Marion and Sadie (Knutson) Pederson. She grew up there, attending school at the Barnhard School, Morris Ag School, and Underwood High School.

On June 3, 1960, she married Harold Ellingson at Tingvold Lutheran Church, rural Underwood. Naomi spent many years as a caregiver to numerous people, including her parents.

She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, rural Underwood.

Naomi loved to bake and was famous for her caramel rolls and brownies.

Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother-in-law, Jim Wille, and a great niece, Jamie Lynn Foster.

Survivors include her husband, Harold Ellingson, of Pelican Rapids; children, Dean (Annette) Ellingson of Fergus Falls and Tracy (Jason) Ross of Pelican Rapids; grandchildren: Amanda (Brad) Fuchs of Powderly TX, Hollie Mortenson of Bismarck, Mallarie Mortenson of Moorhead, Jason Ross Jr., Allyssa Ross, Kaylie Ross and Brody Ross, all of Pelican Rapids; great-grandchildren: Sadie Mortenson, Otto Fuchs, Elias Fuchs, Ryot Ronne, and Norman Fuchs; her siblings: Bev (George) Worshek of Jackson, and Lloyd (Connie) Nygaard of Oceanview; nephew and nieces: Deb (Mike) Foster, Judy Wille, Rusty Wille, and Kathy (Jarrod) Vagle and their families; numerous cousins; and many friends.

Naomi “Kay” blessed the lives of so many “adopted” kids. She taught love, strength, and faith throughout her life.

As per Naomi’s request, there will be a private family service at a later date.

Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of the arrangements.
