Underwood’s Lind to play for Mustangs

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside College head men’s basketball coach Jim Sykes announced that Zane Lind, a 6-7 forward from Underwood, Minn., will enroll at Morningside this fall and compete for the Mustangs.

Lind is a senior at Underwood High School, where he amassed 927 points, 696 rebounds, 169 blocked shots, and 127 steals during his prep career.

Lind averaged just under a double-double this past season with norms of 16.2 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. He also averaged 2.0 blocked shots per contest. He scored in double figures in 22 of Underwood’s 25 contests, including nine performances of 20 points or more. Lind had 15 double figure rebounding performances, including a streak of sevenstraight games in January.

He had season’s highs of 27 points against Rothsay and 16 rebounds against New York Mills.

Lind will join a Morningside men’s basketball team that went 10-3 over its final 13 games of the 2012-13 season to finish with a record of 18-15. The Mustangs reached the championship game of the Great Plains Athletic Conference Post-Season Tournament.
