Attitudes for Hair to celebrate 25 years

Published 10:46am Wednesday, March 20, 2013

Attitudes for Hair has started its twenty-fifth year of business in downtown Fergus Falls, and to celebrate the milestone the salon will host an open house and prize give away on Thursday. For owner Livvy Ness, the celebration will not only recognize the shop’s decades of dedication, but it’s loyal customer base as well.

“We want everyone to know how much we appreciate our clients,” said Ness. “We want to have this for them to enjoy.”

Attitudes started in 1988 with stylists and owners Deedee Moore and Marie Jacobson. Last October, Ness, Jacobson’s daughter took over the business.

Ness has worked with hair for eight years and knew from an early age that all the time she spent with her mom in the salon would lead to the career.

“I was two when the place opened, so I spent a lot of Saturdays with my mom as a helper sweeping hair and helping out,” said Ness. “I did hair for friends in high school and it developed into a career from there.”

Now with six stylists, including Moore, Jacobson and Ness, the studio has gone through extensive changes. From tanning to pedicures, the shop has been recently updated and offers several new beauty services, all in an effort to provide the highest quality service for their clients.

“We just try to put on a professional, friendly and positive environment here,” said Ness.

The open house celebration will start at 6 p.m. and last until 8. Prizes will be given away every 15 minutes and the event will be capped off with a grand prize spa giveaway. The grand prize package will include a manicure, pedicure, facial and a wash and style.
