4 M State student-athletes awarded all-academic honors
Published 10:40am Thursday, March 21, 2013Four Fergus Falls natives Chase Johansen, Tim Borowski, Lauren Abel and Andrea Christenson have been recognized as Academic Award Winners by the Minnesota College Athletic Conference for fall semester.
Athletes earn MCAC academic recognition if they have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better at the end of the semester that includes the majority of their sports season and they complete a minimum of 12 credits during the semester.
Johansen and Borowski are members of the football team at Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Fergus Falls
Abel and Christenson, members of the volleyball team at Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Fergus Falls.
The Spartans this year advanced to the national Division III volleyball tournament, where they finished in fourth place.
As a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, M State serves more than 9,200 students in credit courses each year in more than 120 career and liberal arts programs at its four campuses in Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead and Wadena, and through eCampus. By partnering with communities, the college also provides custom training services and other responsive training programs.
