The Fergus Falls wrestling team closed the door on the 2012-13 season as they held their annual end of the year banquet last weekend.
Abbot Aho ended his career at Fergus Falls as one of the most decorated wrestlers.
Aho set the school’s career record for wins with 188, all-state and Central Lakes all-conference nods, school record for most takedowns (153) and seasonal awards for most wins (42), most pins (23), most near fall points (191) and the award for most outstanding wrestler.
Teammate Tyler Giza also wrapped his career for the Otters placing sixth in all-time wins with 132.
Giza also received all-state and all-conference honors, as well as tying Aho for most wins on the season with 42.
Other wrestlers receiving awards included state participant Dane Ringquist receiving the most dedicated award, Joe Wedll for most improved and Spencer Sikkink for rookie of the year.
Gus Makovsky, a state participant, and Abram Aho were named to the all-conference team, while Ben Schindler was given all-conference honorable mention.
The Otters also had 14 wrestlers receive academic awards for having grade point averages of 3.0 or higher.
The Otter wrestlers finished the season 3-15 record in dual meets.
