Knife assault reported in Fergus

A Fergus Falls man was arrested for second-degree assault after allegedly brandishing a knife on a victim in a parking lot. No injuries were reported.

Fergus Falls police responded to a report of an assault in progress at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday, March 23 in the Anytime Fitness parking lot, according to a news release.

The victim reportedly told police he was approached by two people in the parking lot, and one of them pulled out a knife following a verbal argument.

The 22-year-old suspect was located running on the southwest corner of Lake Alice and the knife was found near the northeast side of Anytime Fitness, according to the news release.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Otter Tail County Jail.
