On which side of the dollar do you fall? [UPDATED]Published 5:50am Monday, March 25, 2013 Updated 7:58am Monday, March 25, 2013
On the tube in March of 2013, I watched parts of House Budget Committee meeting re: the GOP budget. The Democrats would introduce an amendment, give their side, the GOP would respond, and then the 22 GOP members of congress would vote NO and 17 Democrats would vote YES and the amendment would be defeated.
During these debates one GOP Congressman said out loud that he did not know why the minimum wage should be raised and the rich should be asked to pay more. In 1957, I worked for the State of Minnesota at minimum wage of $1.01 an hour.
Based on his argument, it probably should have stayed there. I believe the Democrats are way better in looking after the American people and the rich should pay a fair share.
What you do as an employee and as a consumer is way more important that what the rich do.
(2) The GOP argues that government should stay out of business’ business. In March of 2013, I heard that the government has discovered a $100 M farm insurance fraud. Crops that were not damaged, where reported damaged and then sold under another name.
In March of 2013, I heard of a phamacy company that is suppose to do compound personal prescriptions and not do group prescriptions.
When they operate that way they are not under FDA rules. One company started to make “group prescriptions.”
The result was a very bad fungus batch from which at least 74 people nationwide died (more dying), the rest who got that “prescription” are very sick, no cure, and the medicine they take for the pain is horrible.
(3) It is reported that the new pope, Francis I said: That the difference between the poor and the rich in Argentina is a “social sin.”
(4) Thank you for reading this letter. It is GREED vs NEED: which side are you on?
