Fergus Falls Boys Hockey senior defenseman Joe Nathe participated in the Ted Brill Great 8 this past weekend helping his team section 6A/6AA finish second. For over 30 years, Minnesota Hockey has made a tradition of providing its Elite High School Seniors with an opportunity to showcase their skills and abilities to coaches and scouts from junior, collegiate, and professional teams. Seniors from A & AA teams in each section are selected by a vote of the section coaches.
“We’re thrilled to be showcasing the best high school hockey players our state has to offer,” said High Performance Director, Mike MacMillan. “The Ted Brill Great 8 is recognizing these senior players for their hard work and growth over their tremendous careers. This event is a testament to their abilities and a way for them to impress the coaches and scouts at the next levels of hockey.”
The last Fergus Falls players to attend the Great 8 were Lucas Gervais and Derek Kinder in 2010. Nathe earned his selection with accomplishments of top 10 points in state for senior Class A defensemen and top defensemen with points in section 6A with 36 points. He was also recognized as All Conference for Central Lakes Conference and first Team Section 6A.
