Lots planned at CenterPublished 9:18am Thursday, March 7, 2013 Updated 11:26am Thursday, March 7, 2013
A Center for the Arts is in warp speed: Razzle Dazzle this weekend, World Artist of the Year “Pavlo” shortly, two performances of Glenn Miller in April, our new 2013/14 season was just announced, we are out soliciting sponsorships, the membership drive will be in full swing shortly, the space above the Senior Center is nearing completion, plans are underway for an on-stage mini-series of more “classical” performances, we are switching over to a computerized ticketing system allowing us reserve seats for all shows, we are rearranging the office spaces in May, Concerts in the Park are nearly booked, the summer Children’s Theatre (NEW) will be doing “Jungle Book” in June, our summer musical will be the “25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” and this is only some of what’s happening.
Wow, visit our web page for a full calendar of events.
A Center for the Arts has an incredible staff. Last week I was called away on a personnel matter and for the first time in 15 years I missed a Series event.
In the past under similar circumstances, I have chosen to stay with the facility and not participate in the situation which called me away.
I felt confident and safe in leaving a major event to the staff at AC4TA. You all went above and beyond.
A special thank you to Kristin who took on a 16-hour-day to make sure our patrons and performers were happy with the events of the day, which included 900 k-fifth graders and more than 350 show patrons.
We need your help to keep up with all of our plans. We are always looking for volunteers not just for the Front of House which includes ushers, box office and ticket takers — but for lights, sound, set, costumes and so much more.
Consider volunteering as little or as much as you would like at A Center for the Arts. Normal is never amazing.
Michael Burgraff is the director at A Center for the Arts in Fergus Falls.
