Scam money retrieved

A 91-year-old Fergus Falls man fell victim to a scam but was able to get his money back.

According to the police report, the man received two phone calls from an unknown number asking that $2,900 he sent because the man’s son-in-law was stuck in a hospital in the Philippines after an accident.

The man sent the money at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 26 via MoneyGram at Walmart.

The son-in-law happened to visit the man Tuesday, and they were able to get the money back from MoneyGram.
