Vikings down D-G-F 70-50 in playoffs

PELICAN RAPIDS – The Pelican Rapids boys basketball team advanced to the second round of the Section 8AA tournament Thursday night, defeating Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 70-50.

The Vikings took a 39-26 lead into halftime, but had a setback early in the second half after stand out senior Tucker Forsgren left the game with a knee injury.

Juniors Ryan Bruggeman and Travis Haugen led Pelican on the night with 24 and 20 points, respectively. Devin Schell contributed 14.

The Vikings travel to Moorhead on Saturday to face rival Perham at Concordia College. Tip off is at 8 p.m.
