Tinseltwon tumblers: FFGA set to showcase ‘Lights, Camera, Tumberl’Published 9:45am Monday, April 1, 2013
With all eyes on them, the Fergus Falls Gymnastics Academy students will look to take spectators to the movies as they host thier annual gymnastics show at the Roosevelt Maroon Gym April 7.
The show, entitled ‘Lights, Camera, Tumble’, will feature more than 150 of the academy’s students performing their skills to musical accompaniment.
Spectators will recognize many of the songs during the performance as theme songs from famous movies and other Hollywood classics will be played, FFGA coach Erin Larson said.
The annual show is attempting to deliver a different look this time around as it will be much more ‘show’ focused, rather than just presenting the students’ skills over music.
“In the past we have had a more loose format, showing the skills the kids have been working on with less structure,” Larson said. “We have some new coaches this year who are really passionate about making this event better, as it is a major fundraiser for our club. They have put many hours into making it a success.”
The girls have also been practicing routines to make this show extra special.
“We hope that making the format changes we have made this year will make the whole experience better for them, as well as for the audience,” Larson added.
The show will begin at 2 p.m. with tickets being $5 for adults and $2 for students.
