A Fergus Falls man has been charged after he allegedly threatened a man and got into a fight at a party.

Joshua David Adams, 21, was charged Tuesday, April 2 in Otter Tail County District Court with felony terroristic threats, and fifth-degree assault-fear of bodily harm or death and fifth-degree assault-inflict or attempt bodily harm, both misdemeanors.

According to the criminal complaint, Adams allegedly had an altercation with another man at a party March 29 in Fergus Falls. The man reportedly said Adams came up to him at the party and punched him in the face at least once. Though there were some reports from people at the party saying Adams issued verbal threats about a gun, a sighting of a gun was not confirmed in the report. The man involved in the altercation reportedly said Adams did not show a gun.

Adams was reportedly upset that his ex-girlfriend had been hanging out with the man who Adams allegedly punched.

Adams allegedly left a voicemail for the man threatening to kill him in the past two weeks. Adams also reportedly made multiple threats to the man to “jump him” and beat him up.

Adams’ next court appearance is scheduled for April 12.
