A Fergus Falls man was charged with burglary and assault after an alleged argument with another man.

Lord Nana Sarpong, 24, was charged Wednesday, April 3 in Otter Tail County District court with first-degree burglary, a felony, and two misdemeanor counts of fifth-degree assault.

According to the criminal complaint, Sarpong went to a man’s apartment in the 600 block of Second Avenue Monday, April 1 to confront him about rumors he had spread about Sarpong. At the man’s door, Sarpong was reportedly angry and an argument ensued.

A woman at the apartment reportedly said Sarpong pushed past the man after he’d asked Sarpong not to enter. The woman pepper sprayed Sarpong, causing him to land on top of her, the report says.

Sarpong’s next court appearance is scheduled for April 15.
