Dennis Wayne Hein, 76, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, peacefully at his home with his wife, Mary, by his side.

Dennis was born Dec. 31, 1936, the oldest child of Lauren and Marie (Wells) Hein. He attended a one-room school house near his home and later attended Perham High School.

He was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church of Richville.

He served in the Army for three years as a sharp shooter and was stationed in Panama. After his honorable discharge, Dennis married Mary Byram on July 25, 1959.

They made their home in rural Richville where Dennis worked as a building contractor until his health forced him into retirement.

Dennis was well known to all as the “go to man” for constructions advice.

He was an active member of United Methodist Church in Richville and was not only instrumental in the ongoing physical structure of the building through two reconstructions, but also the spiritual well-being of the church as a leader, that many members and pastors turned to.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Hein; a son, Donald (Sandy) Hein of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Cindy (David) Schroeder of Sabin; a son, Jason (Tamara) Hein of Cypress, Calif.; a daughter, Monica (David) Crowley of Moorhead; 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandsons; brothers, Larry, Doyle (Karen) and Terry (Tracy); sisters, Karen (Tony) Kawlewski, and Tammy (Brian) Thiele; and many nephews and nieces.
