Fire causes minimal damagePublished 10:59am Monday, April 22, 2013
A family of five came home Friday to flames in the dining room of its New York Mills home. The fire caused minimal fire and smoke damage.
When Ryan Stout, his wife and their three children arrived home to the fire at about 7:30 p.m. Friday, Ryan threw water on the fire, according to a news release from the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office. The fire was extinguished by the time the New York Mills Fire Department arrived. The fire department removed smoke from inside the house and also removed the ceiling and wall from where the fire occurred.
The Stout family was still able to reside in the house.
