Underwood High School was honored to have a team qualify for the State Economics Challenge for the second year in a row.

This year’s team headed to the state competition held at the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis on Monday, April 8. Breanna Vogel (second-time competitor), Greta Thormodson (second-time competitor), Kaitlyn Holen, and Suzie Thieschafer made up the team, which was coached by Angela Hartman.

The team qualified for the state competition by winning a state online Economics Challenge test against other small schools.

Only a total of 24 students are able to claim this honor. At the state competition the Underwood team competed against five other small school teams.

The team competed in tests relating to Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and International/Current Events. Underwood is so proud of these students, their level of economics knowledge, and how they represented our school at the state competition.
