44-year-old charged with DWI [UPDATED]

Richard Paul Knebel, 44, of Winamac, Ind., was charged with gross misdemeanor DWI in Otter Tail County District Court. His first court appearance was Thursday.

According to the criminal complaint, deputies responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch at about 5:30 a.m. April 16. The pickup truck was on the entrance ramp to Interstate 94 at County Hwy. 35.

Knebel had an impaired driving conviction in Winamac County, Ind. Sept. 15, 2004, the report says.

Knebel’s next court appearance is scheduled for April 30.
