Clitherall man sentenced to five years for DWI

A Clitherall man was sentenced to 60 months in prison for felony DWI-refusal to submit to a chemical test.

Dwight Eric Robertson, 64, was sentenced Tuesday, April 2 in Otter Tail County District Court. He pleaded guilty Jan. 15 to the DWI charge. A gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation charge was dismissed.

According to the criminal complaint, Robertson was stopped by authorities just before 5 p.m. Nov. 8, 2012 on 435th Avenue just north of County Hwy. 38 in Otter Tail County. A preliminary breath test showed his blood alcohol level to be 0.17.

Robertson has two prior felony convictions for driving while impaired, one in Douglas County July 21, 2003 and one in Otter Tail County Sept. 8, 2003.
