Goals reached makes life better here [UPDATED]

Published 10:24am Thursday, April 25, 2013 Updated 12:27pm Thursday, April 25, 2013

The United Way and YMCA reached their annual campaign goals, bringing in a total of $388,437 in 2012.

We would like to congratulate the YMCA and United Way for reaching their goals and thank local businesses and individuals for their contributions.

While they are very different organizations, the primary focus of both the YMCA and the United Way is to make the community a better place.

This can’t happen without the hard work of volunteers and generous donations from local residents.

Both organizations plan to top their 2012 numbers, and the United Way has already announced a goal increase from $310,000 to $320,000 in 2013. We hope this is a sign of things to come in the area.

We congratulate the YMCA and United Way for their accomplishments and wish them the best as both organizations make plans for future campaigns.

We also encourage local residents and businesses to give back to the community by making monetary donations or becoming volunteers. If everyone gives a little, our community will gain a lot.
