M State Music Dept. plans spring events [UPDATED]

Fans of all types of music will welcome a series of concerts and events planned for the spring by the Music Department at Minnesota State Community and Technical College.

Events include:

• “Dancin’ the Night Away” with the M State Jazz Band and the Lakes Area All Stars is set for Saturday, April 13, at the Bigwood Event Center in Fergus Falls. The evening begins with cocktails at 6 p.m., a pasta dinner at 6:30 p.m. and dance at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 each for the dinner and dance, and $7 for the dance only.

• The Concert Band Concert, under the direction of Dan Carlson, is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in Waage Theatre on the M State campus.

• The Jazz Band Concert, directed by Dan Carlson, is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20, in Waage Theatre.

• The “Pops Spectacular, featuring the M State Concert Choir and Voice Ensemble and directed by Teresa Ashworth, will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in Waage Theatre.

• “Broadway Under the Lights,” featuring the Chamber Chorale and featured soloists and directed by Teresa Ashworth, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28, in Waage Theatre.

Tickets for all concerts are $9 in advance and $11 at the door for adults and $7 in advance and $8 at the door for students. Tickets can be purchased at the M State Box Office (Room C325), by calling 218-736-1600 or online at
