Mother tells story of saving son from cult

Published 9:40am Thursday, April 18, 2013 Updated 11:42am Thursday, April 18, 2013

Trinity Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is hosting the annual Fergus Falls LWML Spring Zone Rally beginning at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 23.

Geneva Paulson from Eagle Bend, will speak at 10:30 a.m. She is the author of the popular book, “Rescuing Randy,” and will speak on the influence the cults have over the mind and the assurance of God’s help in rescuing that mind from evil influence.

She will share the disturbing and inspirational story of their son’s entrapment and manipulation by a religious cult and her family’s struggle to reclaim him from the Christian Fellowship Church International cult he had joined shortly after he entered the navy.

The family saw a drastic personality change as the cult drew him deeper and deeper into their midst. They needed answers.

As the family together worked through Randy’s abduction, deprogramming, snapping, exit counseling and ultimate freedom, their faith grew stronger and their family bond deeper.

The public is invited.

The schedual is as follows:

• 9:30 a.m — Opening Devotions, preschool music, ingathering for Food Shelf

• 10:30 a.m. — Speaker, Geneva Paulson

• Noon lunch followed by Bible Study and business meeting.

The event is free and open to the public.
