Truck hits tree, mailbox

Published 11:28am Monday, April 1, 2013

A 56-year-old Fergus Falls man sustained injuries after his Chevy Silverdao hit a tree and mailbox Sunday morning, according to Fergus Falls police.

He was driving southbound on County Rd. 27 when he said he saw something on the side of the road and swerved to miss it, the report says. He hit a tree and mailbox in the front yard of 1420 Cleveland Ave.

The man was taken to Lake Region Healthcare by Ringdahl’s. He reportedly had a swollen lip and couldn’t remember what happened after he hit the mailbox. He refused tests LRHC wanted to conduct, said he was fine and left LRHC, the report says.

Tests were performed on the scene to see if he was intoxicated, but there were no signs of drug or alcohol impairment, according to the report.
