Published 9:16am Thursday, May 2, 2013 Updated 11:18am Thursday, May 2, 2013

The Summer Arts Academy is a two-week arts day-camp for kids. This year the annual Summer Arts Academy offers theater classes with A Center for the Arts, visual arts classes with the Kaddatz Galleries, and dance classes with the Fergus Falls School of Dance. Classes are Monday through Friday on Aug. 5-16. Times and age groups are varied so that you can choose one, two, or all three classes.

Registration for all classes is through A Center for the Arts. The registration form is available online at FergusArts.org; and at the Fergus Theatre box office (open Tuesdays through Fridays between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.) in downtown Fergus Falls at 124 W. Lincoln Ave. For more information, call AC4TA at 218-998-ARTS (2787).

The Summer Arts Academy classes are divided into two age groups: children entering 1st-3rd grade and those entering 4th grade and up. Multiple-child family discounts are available, and a limited number of scholarships are available for some classes.

The theater class with A Center for the Arts will incorporate acting, movement, set design and construction, costuming and more as the kids write and perform their very own theater piece.
