30-year-old charged with computer damagePublished 10:52am Monday, May 6, 2013
A Dent woman who allegedly deleted accounting information from the computers of a Fergus Falls business has been charged with a felony.
Angela Kay Larson, 30, of Dent, was charged with felony computer damage in Otter Tail County District Court. She had her first court appearance Monday, April 29.
According to the criminal complaint, the co-owner of Locators and Supplies in Fergus Falls discovered accounting protocols and procedures had been deleted from the computer system in October 2012 after Larson, an employee, was told her hours with the store would be reduced.
Information relating to filing sales tax, rentals, new vehicle and adjusting entries were missing from the store’s records. On Oct. 12, 2012, credit card comparison procedures, salesman commission, sales by state, hard copy documents and computer copies were discovered deleted, the report says.
Video showed Larson throwing pages away on more than one occasion. Larson was reportedly fired Oct. 15.
Larson’s next court appearance is scheduled for June 24.
