Knights fall twice to Tigers

Published 11:18am Wednesday, May 8, 2013

BARRETT — The West Central Knights were on the winning end in Monday’s matchup against Eagle Valley. The teams bats never seemed to quit as they placed balls in gaps, valleys and ditches on the way to a double digit win.

Tuesday’s doubleheader with Browerville was a different story.

The Tigers were able to claim a sweep over the hosting Knights in a double header that saw the home team’s bats catch a bit of frostbite.

In the first game, Browerville was able to tag West Central pitches for an 11-2 victory.

The Knights cold bats went to frozen in game two as the Tigers were able to get a shutout victory 2-0.

Makenna Hegseth picked up two wins on the mound for the Tigers as she pitched all 14 innings of the doubleheader.

The Knights will have a day off to find their offensive firepower before taking on Swanville Thursday in a 4 p.m. doubleheader.
