Residents respond to survey [UPDATED]Published 9:19am Friday, May 10, 2013 Updated 11:21am Friday, May 10, 2013
The last of the Fergus Falls Public Library surveys were collected on April 22 and the winners of the iPads generously donated by the Friends of the Library were randomly chosen last week from the 2,374 surveys submitted. Congratulations to iPad winners Penny Mosher and Pam Torkelson.
Penny told library staff she is excited to try out reading on her new iPad. Penny noted that reading is one of her favorite past times, and she also plans to share the iPad with her grandchildren.
The Library Renewal Task Force is very happy with the number of surveys returned and we thank you for taking the time to provide us with your input and thoughts on library services, spaces and collections.
The Task Force has begun analyzing the survey responses and plans on presenting a preliminary report on the survey results in conjunction with the library’s annual report to the Fergus Falls City Council during the June 3 Council meeting. Preliminary results will also be shared with the community during the Forward Fergus Falls Annual Community Breakfast at Legacy Hall, M State on June 13.
The survey results, focus group responses, library staff input and usage statistics will be combined into an overall Needs Assessment report, which will be presented to the City Council in late 2013 or early 2014.
Along with the Needs Assessment report, the Task Force will also present a recommendation for the next steps in the Library Renewal process based on their findings.
Thank you again for your input and, as always, we look forward to seeing you at the library.
Erin Smith is the director, of the Fergus Falls Public Library.
