544 foundation awards scholarships [UPDATED]

The 544 Education Foundation awarded the following scholarships at the Fergus Falls High School Senior Recognition Ceremony on Monday, May 6:

• Robert S. and Elaine H. Olson Community Appreciation Fund Scholarship

Jackson McAllister, son of Chip and Stacy McAllister, and Rachel Hofmann, daughter of James and Regina Hofmann, are the 2013 recipients of the Robert S. and Elaine H. Olson Community Appreciation Fund Scholarship. Jackson will be attending Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Fergus Falls and pursing an Associates Degree. Rachel will be attending North Dakota State College of Science and pursuing a degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.

• Wessberg Family Scholarship

Keianna Vogel, daughter of Lisa Johnson, and William Eerdmans, Class of 2012, are the 2013 recipients of the Wessberg Family Scholarship. Keianna will be attending either the University of Minnesota or Johns Hopkins University and pursuing a degree in neuroscience and genetics and William is attending the University of North Dakota, pursuing a degree in Petroleum Engineering.

• Randy Wanek Memorial Scholarship

Mitchell Nacke, son of Russell and Julie Nacke, is the 2013 recipient of the Randy Wanek Memorial Scholarship. He will be attending either South Dakota State University or the University of South Dakota and pursing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.

Two other scholarships were also awarded:

Two Fergus Falls students are participating in the Foundation’s Summer Scholars Program. Shelby Kamrowski, daughter of Gary and Kim Kamrowski, and Alicia Niblock, daughter of Don and Liz Niblock, have received full scholarships to attend “Youth Engineering Adventure” at South Dakota State University June 16-20.
