Blood drive a success [UPDATED]Published 9:29am Thursday, May 16, 2013 Updated 11:31am Thursday, May 16, 2013
The Red Cross Blood Drive was in Fergus Falls on May 1, 2 and 3. The Blood Drive coordinators truly appreciate the donors who came in those days, especially the first-time donors.
We collected 182 units of whole blood. Also, 60 double red cell units were donated for a total of 242 units of blood. Many are blessed with the gift of life because you have taken the time to give and care.
Thank you to the WestRidge Mall for the use of their facilities, Lake Region Healthcare maintenance crew for help unloading and loading equipment, Pat Griffin and Sentence-to-Serve for setting up on Wednesday and taking down on Friday, Otter Tail Telcom for use of a cell phone, Lakes Radio, The Daily Journal, the Battle Lake Review and the Shopping News for the publicity.
We especially want to thank Midwest Printing for donating the signs we posted around Fergus Falls. Thanks to the city of Fergus Falls and willing residents for letting us put our signs up on their property.
We also thank our dependable volunteers who delivered posters, called donors and worked at the Blood Drive.
We three coordinators could not do this blood drive without you.
Put on your calendar now that our next drive will be Sept. 18, 19 and 20. Please call us in September to offer to donate blood.
