BARRETT — An improved West Central Area baseball team saw one game slip away and the other fall apart early on as the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder swept the Prairie Conference doubleheader.
The Knights look to have game one in the bag until a three run final frame game the Thunder a 6-5 win.
With bases loaded and one out, Tyler Retka saw a one two pitch plunk him and walk in the winning run.
Spencer Ilstrup led the West Central hitters going two for three with a run and an RBI.
Game two saw the Thunder ‘s bats wake up as they blew past West Central 12-6.
LP-GE jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and never looked back as the Knights fell in the sweep.
West Central’s Jay Zimmerman had a great game from the plate going two for two with two RBI and two runs scored.
The Knights will look to rebound as it welcomes Parkers Prairie in for a 4:30 p.m. Friday match up.
