Virginia Marie Knutson was born May 31, 1929, at home in Friberg Township, rural Erhard, the daughter of Leonard and Ida (Bauman) Grant.
Virginia attended country school in Edwards and then the Washington School in Fergus Falls. She married Hiram Knutson on April 9, 1949.
Virginia was a cook at The Elks and Holiday Inn in Fergus Falls. She was very happy at Pioneer Suites and enjoyed the staff and residents.
She is survived by her children, Rebecca (Tom) Halbakken, Linda (Rick) Trosvig, and Rhonda Knutson; grandchildren, Danielle (Jason) Witzegreuter, Erica (Joe) Rodewald, Chris Halbakken, Travis Halbakken, Ryan Knutson and Andrea Knutson; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Samantha Witzegreuter, Spencer and Jackson Rodewald, Ethan Knutson; sisters, Evelyn Johnson of Fergus Falls and Beverly (Norman) Medenwaldt of Moses Lake, Wash.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram; a son, Jeffrey; three sisters, Gladys Bolstad, Dorothy Eisner and Lillian Stensrud; and four brothers, Orman, Clifford, David and Floyd Grant.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service
Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls
