20-year-old gets 15 years probation for assault

A Verndale man who sexually assaulted a teenage girl has been sentenced to 90 days in jail and 15 years of supervised probation.

Tyler Paul Perry, 20, was convicted for felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim older than 13 but younger than 16 Tuesday, May 14 in Otter Tail County District Court. He pleaded guilty Feb. 26.

According to the criminal complaint, Perry went to a county residence where the victim was on the afternoon of June 15, 2011. Perry reportedly grabbed the victim near the washer and dryer and began kissing her. In a bedroom, Perry pushed the victim down on the bed and sexually assaulted her, the report says.
