ST. CLOUD – The rain and damp conditions did not play into the Otters favor Tuesday as it finished in fourth place in the Central Lakes Conference Championship held at Wapikada Golf Course.
The Alexandria Cardinals claimed the conference title after shooting a 325 team score. Sartell (329) was the runner-up, while Willmar (331) edged Fergus Falls by two strokes for third.
Nick Brundell of Alexandria claimed medalist honors shooting a 75. Keaton Lausch was the top Fergus club holder shooting an 80, while teammates Chris Swenson and Levi Soydara each shot an 83.
“Today’s conditions were tough, it was cold with a steady rain,” Otter coach Ben Jurgens said. “Our guys were prepared for the weather, so we were optimistic prior to the start of the round. Our team score was just too high today.”
All-Conference awards were also given out as Swenson, Lausch and Soydara were named to the team, while teammates Will Haas and Andrew MacFarlane were given honorable mention.
