Purse nearly nabbed from laundromat [UPDATED]

A Fergus Falls man attempted to steal a woman’s purse from the top of a laundromat washing machine in the 1100 block of West Lincoln Ave., Tuesday, according to police.

At about 7:30 p.m., the man tried to steal the purse and ran out the back door.

The woman ran after him, but he dropped the purse near Pizza Hut. She identified the man via a photo lineup. Police were unable to locate him, but he was cited for misdemeanor theft.
