ALEXANDRIA — The Brandon-Evansville softball team will live to play another day as it recorded a split in the Section 6A playoffs Friday.
The Chargers were able to win its first game of the day as it topped Parkers Prairie 3-1.
Emma Friedrich led the Charger hitters going three for three with a run scored.
In the second game, the Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale Bears were able to hold the B-E hitters to win 9-2.
B-E’s Megan Kokett led the team with two hits and run scored in the game.
“Today we got very good pitching performances from Kinsley and Carlie,” Charger coach Tim Pattrin said. “Our defense played excellent in the field in both games.”
The Chargers will have no wiggle room as it travels to Pelican Rapids Tuesday for a 4 p.m. elimination round rematch with Parkers Prairie.
