Arrows down Rebels 11-1 in playoffs

ASHBY — The Eagle Valley Rebels got a rematch from last week’s 10-2 loss, but the Arrows were able to do better as it defeated the visitor 11-1 in the opening round of the Section 6A playoffs.

Pitcher Paige Nelson held Eagle Valley to one run in five innings of work. Nelson sat down three batters and allowed five hits.

Madison VanSanten led the Ashby hitters going two for three with two runs scored and two knocked in. Teammate Cassandra Jordan went one for one with two runs scored, two walks and an RBI.

The Arrows will now travel to Alexandria to take on Verndale/Bertha-Hewitt Thursday at 4 p.m.
