Published 11:09am Friday, May 3, 2013

ASHBY — The Arrows’ Paige Nelson was throwing heat that the Parkers Prairie Panthers just couldn’t touch as her one-hit, 12 K shutout performance propelled Ashby to a 3-0 win Thursday.

“Paige had a great performance today and her teammates really had her back,” Arrows’ coach Kandace Norby said. “This win was a total team effort with a combination of solid defense, smart base running and timely hitting.”

Cassandra Jordan led the Arrow hitters with a hit, an RBI and two runs scored, while teammates Meg Roley and Madison VanSanten each had an RBI in the win.

The Arrows will now travel to Ortonville to take on the Trojans in a 4 p.m. match up Friday.
