CHOKIO — The Hillcrest Comets made its way into the win column Tuesday afternoon as they swept the hosting Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley Wolverines in a doubleheader sweep 6-1 and 4-3.

Laura Tungseth recorded both wins for the Comets as she scattered seven hits and struckout nine combined in the two games.

The Comets’ Megan Aasness, Abby Taylor and Kelsey Nersten provided the offensive punch for Hillcrest as they accounted for eight of the 10 runs scored and combined for five RBI.

“We’re improving with every game and practice,” Comet coach Craig Nersten said. “We also have a great time together. We’re made up of an outstanding cast of players which makes my job of coaching pretty easy.”

The Comets will open their home season Friday as they host Ortonville in a 4 p.m. doubleheader at Hannah Park.
