1 man dead, 1 arrested in Alexandria stabbing

Alexandria police have arrested a 25-year-old man after another man was fatally stabbed.

Officers were called to the stabbing just after 1 p.m. Saturday. Police found the victim dead on the lawn.

Police say 28-year-old Phillip Alstadt of Alexandria apparently was stabbed after an altercation.

The suspect, who also is from Alexandria, was arrested. Police say the victim and the suspect knew each other.

Alexandria police along with the Douglas County sheriff’s office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating.
