SummerFest a great way to support community [UPDATED]Published 9:48am Wednesday, June 5, 2013 Updated 11:51am Wednesday, June 5, 2013
While many local residents will be busy doing spring activities like cleaning, planting and swatting mayflies, The Daily Journal would like to remind everyone that summer is here, and we encourage all local residents to get out and enjoy SummerFest.
Not only is SummerFest an opportunity to enjoy the summer with family and friends, it is also a great way to show support for the community. It takes a lot to put together an event like SummerFest, and it is all done so residents have a fun way to connect and enjoy a weekend of events and entertainment.
SummerFest also marks a weekend to put the community first.
We would like to challenge everyone to shop locally and put money back into Fergus Falls. Grab an ice cream treat from Dairyland, get lunch at Don Pablo’s, buy a gift at Lundeen’s or have dinner at The Spot. Pick your favorite locally owned and operated business, and show your support.
With a parade, family games, vendors, Patrick, beer gardens and a street dance, there is something for everyone at SummerFest, and we encourage all to clear off that spring schedule for a weekend of summer fun.
