54-year-old dies after van pins him [UPDATED]Published 11:02am Friday, June 7, 2013 Updated 1:37pm Friday, June 7, 2013
A 54-year-old Fergus Falls man died Thursday after the van he was repairing rolled forward and pinned him, according to Fergus Falls police.
Glen Allen Detienne was reportedly working underneath the vehicle Thursday morning in the driveway of his home in the 700 block of North Vine Street when the vehicle rolled forward off the ramps it was on.
His girlfriend found him and authorities were called at about 12:30 p.m., but Detienne was dead upon their arrival.
An autopsy was completed and his death was determined to be accidental, according to police Friday afternoon.
Detienne disconnected the drive shaft and then the car rolled off the ramps, according to police.
The parking brake on the vehicle was off, which was reportedly a contributing factor to the accident.
Fergus Falls Fire Department also responded to the scene to lift the vehicle.
